Erase unwanted tattoos with PicoSure, the most advanced laser treatment available for safe and effective tattoo removal. PicoSure targets unwanted ink more effectively than ever before, successfully removing difficult ink colors, such as blues and greens, as well as previously treated tattoos. Fewer treatments, faster recovery time, and greater results are achievable with PicoSure’s groundbreaking picosecond technology.
Picosecond pulse width is 100X shorter than nanosecond technology, and PicoSure tattoo removal often requires fewer treatments than traditional Q-Switched lasers. PicoSure patients and doctors have reported better clearance of the tattoo with an improved recovery time.
Traditional nanosecond lasers predominately rely on photothermal action, delivering heat to the pigment and surrounding tissue. PicoSure takes advantage of PressureWave Technology to shatter the target ink into tiny particles that are easily eliminated by the body.
PicoSure’s ultra-short pulse duration goes beyond photothermal action creating an intense photomechanical impact, patented PressureWave™, resulting in greater disruption of the target for better clearance with fewer treatments, less fluence and without injury to the surrounding skin. Only ultrashort pulse durations trigger photomechanical effect. Even dark, stubborn blue and green inks, as well as previously-treated, recalcitrant tattoos can be removed.
The ideal candidate has realistic expectations for the procedure, is in good medical health, can commit to the recovery time, is aware of the risks involved, and has an unwanted tattoo. The only way to know for sure if it is right for you is to speak with our staff and schedule a consultation.
It is important to follow the practitioner’s post-procedural aftercare to avoid any unexpected issues, but it is a non-surgical, non-invasive, procedure with no adverse events reported from PicoSure. Blister and scabbing may occur, in which case is it important to bandage and treat with healing ointment to aid healing.
Tattoo removal is somewhat more irritating than getting a tattoo
During your consultation, we will assess your tattoo and give the recommended amount to treatments necessary. With PicoSure, you should see improved results with fewer treatments, compared to the Q-Switched treatments. Because every patients and tattoo is unique, some see improved results after the first treatment, while others may require more.
Patients should avoid irritating the treated location for 24 to 48 hours after treatment. Sun exposure should be restricted until the treated location is completely healed as to not damage the healing process.
Pricing varies based on body and skin type, on the amount of treatments required, size of tattoo, and length of procedure performed. Please call or schedule a consultation for more information.
