Neck Lift

Centre For Cosmetic Surgery

As we age, gravity takes its toll on the tissues of the neck. The skin becomes loose and tends to sag, collecting fat deposits and jowling. The neck loses its overall youthful contours, and the jawlines loses its definition. A traditional neck lift is one way of correcting these problems. A neck lift will remove excess skin, stiffen skin and muscle tissue, lift and tighten jowls, reduce submental fat, and restore youthful curves to the neck. Rejuvenation procedures that can be performed in conjunction with a neck lift are: a brow lift, to correct a sagging or deeply furrowed brow, fat transfer, to add fullness to the lips and cheeks and reduce the appearance of wrinkles, or eyelid surgery, to rejuvenate aging eyes.

Neck Lift Recovery

Generally, it will be safe to return to daily activities after 2 weeks of proper recovery. Bruising and swelling are common for the first two days and will begin to fade after. Patients are usually up and about 1-2 days after surgery and bandages are removed on the second or third day. Patients can shower and wash hair normally after the bandages are removed. Keeping your head elevated 2-3 days after surgery will help reduce swelling. It is a good idea to be relatively inactive for the first week of recovery, but patients usually return to work in about 7 to 10 days. Energetic activities that elevate blood pressure should be avoided for several weeks. It is important to protect skin from the sun during the recovery period.

Neck Lift Faq

  • Am I a good candidate for a neck lift?

Ideal candidates have realistic expectations for the procedure, are in good medical health, can commit to proper recovery time, desire a sleeker neck with a distinct jawline, have excess skin and fat in your neck, and/or your neck has developed folds and lines.

  • How does the laser face lift compare to a traditional face lift or neck lift?

The laser face lift is an excellent procedure for those who just need a little snugging around the neck and jaw line, but it does have its limits. Those with moderate to severe sagging should consider a more traditional approach as the non-surgical face lift can only tighten the skin moderately.

  • Will I have scarring after neck lift surgery?

As with any operational surgery, scaring is unavoidable. The incision will be placed in the most inconspicuous locations so that they can be well hidden in the natural folds of the body. They can also be minimized with proper care and recovery to the point that they may be unnoticeable.

  • How much does a neck lift procedure cost?

Pricing varies based on body and skin types along with combined procedures performed. Please call or schedule a consultation for more information.
