Vaginal Rejuvenation

Enlarged labia can be a cause of embarrassment or discomfort for many women, along with hygiene frustration, pain during intercourse, irritation during physical activities, and unhappy appearance with certain clothing. These are a few of the problems that can be alleviated with a labiaplasty. Vaginal injections of dermal fillers can also be used snug up the vaginal vault, but this option only offers limited tightening and temporary results.

Vaginal Rejuvenation Procedure Details

Normally performed under local anesthesia, this procedure trims off the excess skin of the inner labia or reduces the size of the outer labia. This can often be combined with removal of excessive clitoral hooding by simply extending the incision between the majora and minora. However, this procedure focuses on preserving as much of the outer lip edge and sensitivity as possible and so this is extremely individualized for the patient’s concerns and personal preference.
The procedure is also popularly combined with other enhancements such as breast augmentation, rhinoplasty, and liposuction.

Recovery from a Vaginal Rejuvenation Procedure

One week of recovery is normally sufficient time for patients to return to work and daily activities, but can take up to six weeks for full recovery from a genital rejuvenation procedure. Swelling and discomfort will be normal within the first week, then begin to fade. Strenuous activities and intercourse should be avoided for the first 40 days to avoid prolonging the healing process.
