The miracle of having a child can significantly alter a woman’s body during and after pregnancy, leading to sagging, stretch marks, and isolated deposits of fat on the abdomen, breasts, thighs and other areas. The purpose of a mommy makeover is to get back that pre-pregnancy body and obtain a slimmer, younger looking figure. A mommy makeover is a uniquely personalized treatment plan, and usually encompass two or more procedures (body or breast lifts, breast enlargement, body contouring, and/or liposuction) which produce fabulous body contouring results and increase self-confidence.
Abdominoplasty removes excess skin and tissue of the abdominal wall, while repairing the abdominal muscles to stiffen and smooth the contour of the stomach.
Breasts may experience a loss in volume as well as excess skin after breastfeeding. While clients can get acceptable results from breast implants or a breast lift (mastopexy) alone, these procedures can be combined for best results. Learn more about Breast Enlargement and Breast Lift.
Liposuction removes excess fat deposits and improves body contours and proportion. Abdomen, hips, lower back, waist, flanks, and thighs are just a few of the places that can be artistically shaped for a curvier silhouette. Learn more about Liposuction.
Recovery can vary greatly patient to patient based on body type, age, and combination of procedures don. Patients will need a caregiver for the first 24-48 hours after surgery. During the first and second week of recovery, patients will need to refrain from too much activity and will most likely be on pain medication. Two to five weeks into recovery, patients can normally return to work and continue their normal lifestyle. Driving should still not be performed unless the individual is off prescribed pain medication.
Ideal candidates have realistic expectations for the procedure, are in good medical health, can commit to proper recovery time, have sagging or deflated breasts, excess skin and tissue in abdominal region, and/or unflattering tissue in waist and hips.
For best results, it is ideal to wait until after your body has fully recovered from pregnancy and has maintained a consistent target body weight for about 3 months. In addition, it is recommended that breasts should be allowed to recover and wait until they are finished breastfeeding. With the exception of breastfeeding, most mom’s take about 5-6 months to recover.
All surgeries require a lot of preparation. This helps the procedure be more effective and helps the body heal faster. Patients should stop smoking prior to surgery, as it can lead to some complications. Blood thinners and aspirin should also be avoided except when approved by Dr. Malek.
Be sure to eat healthy, well-balanced meals. Proper nutrition plays a key role in healing properly. You must have a high protein diet, for at least 3-5 weeks. Home recovery is also very important. You must prepare everything ahead of time that way your recovery is pleasant and restful.
For longer-lasting results, it is recommended that you wait until no further pregnancies are planned before getting this procedure.
Pricing varies based on body and skin types along with combined procedures performed. Please call or schedule a consultation for more information.
