Brow Lift (Forehead Lift)

Centre For Cosmetic Surgery

Do you feel like you appear tired, angry, or sad due to the wrinkle lines on your forehead or between your eyes? If that’s you, then a brow lift may be just what you’re looking for! By revitalizing the wrinkle lines found in the forehead and slightly raising the brows, it brings a youthful joyous appearance to a person’s face making them look, and feel years younger. This procedure is often combined with eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty), facelift, or skin resurfacing, to complement each other and rejuvenate your face with a touch of grace.

Brow Lift Procedures

Depending on patient to patient requirements, Dr. Malek may choose local or general anesthesia, contingent on if other procedures are performed simultaneously. A brow lift can be done one of two ways:

Traditional Brow Lift

This method gives the surgeon the best access to the muscle and tissue, allowing adequate adjustments to be made. Incisions are made in front of the hairline to bring the hairline forward to prevent a receding appearance.

Endoscopic Brow Lift

A less invasive procedure than the previously mentioned traditional method, it utilizes 3-5 small ½” incisions located in front of the hair line. The endoscope (pencil-like camera), is inserted and pointed in a direction which aids the surgeon so they can see beneath the skin without making large incisions. The surgeon can then adjust the muscles and skin through the other incisions.

Brow Lift Recovery

Usually patients are up and about 1-2 days after surgery and bandages are removed on the second or third day. The patient can shower and wash hair normally after the bandages are removed. Keeping your head elevated 2-3 days after surgery will help reduce swelling. It is a good idea to be relatively inactive for the first week of recovery, but patients usually return to work in about 7 to 10 days after surgery. Energetic activities that elevate blood pressure should be avoided for several weeks.

Brow Lift Faq

  • Am I a good candidate for a brow lift?

Ideal candidates have realistic expectations for procedure, are in good medical health, can commit to proper recovery time, and have wrinkle lines on their forehead or between the eyes, or have eyebrows that sit lower than the orbital rim.

  • Is there a difference between a traditional brow lift and endoscopic lifts?

Benefits of traditional lift include: Better manipulation of brow height and is very effective with long lasting results.

Benefits of endoscopic lift include: Smaller incisions, quicker recovery, minimal numbness, faster surgery. Drawbacks of endoscopic lift are that it has limitations on the amount of adjustability of tissue.

  • Is there a difference between a traditional brow lift and endoscopic lifts?

The difference between these three procedures rest in the area of the face that gets adjusted. A brow lift generally starts at the top of the forehead and moves down the face to the eyebrow. An eyelid lift (blepharoplasty) can include the areas of the bottom eyebrow and upper or lower eyelid. A midface lift works in the areas below the eyes down to about teeth level. Most of these procedures are paired together.

  • How much does a brow lift procedure cost?

Pricing varies based on body and skin types along with combined procedures performed. Please call or schedule a consultation for more information.
